Does AA win? What if I preflop raise 10x BB?

Read my bad beats thread also. I have been makin money playin with sort of a maniac image - but the swings can hit hard and fast. I know for a fact I played this hand like total dog shit post flop - but I was a little upset. Look at what these people call with.

I know that havin this image makes people more willing to call my huge bets when I have AA, but will they ever just pay up? Is it possible to carry the image I have too far and get too many calls against my premium hands?

If I play with half a brain post flop, will I be able to capitalize big on these situations in the long run?

I'm pretty sure you would have gotten that KJ to call your raise no matter what it was. Just a Bad Beat I think. People get excited when they see cards like that and feel like their invincible. I'm sure if the flop was Axx he would have called you down with modest bets.

With multiple people calling a $5 raise, you have to think one guy has QQ, JJ or other top hand with one of those cards. So, when you see JJQ on the flop you should assume you are beat when they raise big. It sucks to get rockets and fold them, but it's the right call here.

Yea you are right...I have no problem laying down AA, but after that five dollar raise I was pissed.

When the short stack went all in on the flop, I knew he was full of shit because short stacks always go all in on the flop when they have nothing - if they had something they would try to suck more people in. It was pretty obvious I was beat by the other guy, though.

However, today at work I was thinking about my overall poker game and thought to myself "WTF n00b quit tryin this tricky stuff out, obviously I can get nobody to respect my raises but beyond that its pointless at the $25NL games on partypoker. "

And of course both times I got kings today they ran straight into aces.

hehe I think its great u can get ppl to call those kinda raises at all. If u can do it and stay afloat at the same time, im even more impressed.

The same game at UB is hard in my oppinion. Math poker dosnt get u wery far. and theyr good at smelling wierd stuff =/

Heres my review of the hand - am i correct?

1. Cold call possibly indicates high cards but not a high pair
2. Shortstacks always go all in on the flop - if he happened to flop a monster I think he would have waited until at least the turn to go all in
3. Therefore aces are good

Shoulda laid this down huh?

My thinking:
1. Didnt even consider jacks - dunno why not maybe cuz i didnt think jacks would stay in when it was pretty clear I was on KK or AA
2. He either had AA or QQ and when he went allin on me at the flop, I figured that it was queens because with AA he would have put me allin preflop
C. Should have folded on his all-in. My 20 dollar bet was obviously no bluff, and I shoulda known that he knew I was sittin on somethin. Therefore his all-in could only mean he had 1 pair beat.


Still waitin for a set tonight. Nevermind got it. Now, waiting for a set and to destack somebody.
