    Default Should I change style or opponents?

    2 of my good friends and I play all the in local tourments and home SnG's, and fair pretty well. Seiing how much fun we have playing poker and gotten some more of our friends interested in playing, but there is a problem with that.

    This group is very, very loose. Describing them as calling stations doesnt even scratch the surface. They arent very agressive though.They rarely raise. They just plau under the assumption that any had can win. THEY CALL EVERY THING.

    I would describe my style as tight/agressive. Sometimes I play hands out of position, and chase when I have a draw, but that is rare. Sometimes I bluff from the button, but I noticed I was doing it almost everytime I was on the button, so I have basically stopped that for now.

    What is the best way to play against players like this, or should I avoid playing with them all together?

    I lookk forward to your advice!

    When you get AA or KK just raise like 10xbb otherwise just show them down the best hand.

    Exactly... if they won't get raised out, play hands that you don't mind showing down. More suited connectors, any pair hoping to make a set or a boat, things like that. Don't bother with mid-level raises with your AK, AQ. If you're going to raise at all, raise huge... but you're better off trying to hit real monsters rather than hoping your top pair holds up.

    value=bet
    bluff < check
    draw <check
    value=bet

    Definately loosen up here. Any play with AA KK or even QQ should be the equivalent of a nuke. Let them decide whether the gun is too heavy or not. The other thing I do is see tons of flops. Play Aggr but only if you're willing to get called for a turn and maybe show on the river. They have seen you play tight so they'll probably fold when the rags fall. Find an unreal monster (86o with two pair flop...etc) and drive them into the ground. Of course always be careful if you do this, realize these guys might think you aren't a TAG player anymore and call more often. Use your best judgement to wipe these guys out. And by the way I hate calling stations in NLHE

    You definately need to find some new opponents. Send those calling stations over to my place Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays
    Is that guy still part of the forum??

    I found a table like this last night on-line. There was virtually NO pre-flop raising and after that people would call to the river with 3rd pair or worse. I saw more High Card Ace hands in an hour at that table than in the rest of my life.

    It was perfect for my mood last night, I just wanted to get into an easy game. I was limping with anything suited, connect, ace,

    I was able to get to every flop for basically nothing. If I missed the flop I got out. If I hit with top TPGK I would then bet the pot. The chasers would run at this point and the 2nd and 3rd pairs would stick around.

    I don't know if I played it right or not, but it worked for me. Pre-flop raising wasn't worth is at that table because you would still get 5-6 callers who could have anything. It sounds like the same situation you find yourself in with your friends.
