Are they still calling preflop bets like this at $100NL? This was standard fare for party $25NL back in the day.

The money is deep enough to call that with a fair range if you don't suck post-flop. My guess is that a whole bunch of pocket pairs got dealt and I really didn't want anyone playing set against me at anywhere near the right price. Toss in that I'm out of position and I figured all-in wasn't a bad play.

Not sure I understand checking behind in the first hand. Would he seriously have called with no diamonds and just 2 pair/trips on the turn? If not, he's probably going to call another bet (I'm assuming he has the flush and is confident - to some extent at least - with it).

Calling all-in with the straight draw evident looks a little more iffy to me, but assuming the player wouldn't chase with something horrid like this, I can see it...

hmm, not sure if i like the river check on the first hand or not. guess its the safe thing to do, but it would be pretty risky of him to check to you there with the boat. i'd like to think he's got something like jacks with a diamond, but i could be wrong. i'd probably bet 25 there just to see what happened, i don't know if he'd call the turn raise with a set and 4 diamonds showing.

hand 2 i like, don't think he hit a straight the turn bet was too big to call for that. thinking ak/aq or kk/qq or something he was reluctant to lay down.

hand 3, good fold. its easy to waste 5 bucks there.

hand 4... i'd raise more like 20 there, instead of all-in, but hey ya gotta be tricky, i like it.

Worse hands are folding, better hands are raising. Only the K is calling or trip Ts is calling.

Doesn't he just about have odds to call with a set? Ten outs, 73 pot, 20 to call.
