I figure over the long run this sort of play would win out,but I'm not sure...

ACTUALLY i think i should've raised more on the flop... however i thought i could get a little more out of him safely, I guessed wrong. Most people don't bet out with inside straight draw..

I'm assuming you thought you were beat after he called on the flop - you have to think he has top pair beat if he's betting then calling a raise with that board. But I think a set might re raise, so fairly reasonable to think two pair, then you can't get away when the K comes.

He misplayed his hand (or at least played it very... creatively) and got lucky with a card that basically committed you to the pot, while making his hand. Incidentally, that was him hitting a four outer. Then you missed YOUR four outer on the river to fill up. You pretty much got screwed by his bad play and the unfortunate intersection of your two hands - I wouldn't worry about it too much.

No I didn't think I was beat on the flop. No fucking way lol. He threw out a weak ass bet and I raised him and he called. That happens all day on party poker. The king didn't make me more committed, I wish it hadn't come, the only hand I was worried about was J10 on the turn. Once again I had read this player as a fish and did not expect 2 pair / set from him.

I think the move here was re-raising more on the flop.

i would have raised the pot on the flop. if he calls that with his gutshot and hits, so be it. if he folds, you take a nice pot. no need to get greedy.

Funny to call it a gay hand with a straight winner
