Going back through a ton of my hands i've found a lot where i make this mistake, calling this raise on the turn. Do you put him on the J? Or a bluff because my turn bet was so weak and then another bluff because i checked the river? I guess i really just don't know how to play OESD when i'm out of position.

Raising preflop out of position creates a lot of problems for me, you can't play off of the weakness of the players because in order to find that out, you must first yourself convey weakness. Throwing out a potsized (?) bet on an OESD is betting against your own odds. I'll have to put UTG on the J at this point.

Guy calls you on a jack high, rainbow flop; turn pairs the jack & you don't have one yourself. What you know:

    1. he's probably (50% likely) got a jack, unless he's on a straight draw or is a loose player with middle pair.
    2. on the off chance he has JT, JA, or J9 your draw is compromised anyway.

Check/fold the turn. Don't bet it, definitely don't call a big bet or raise from him at that point.
