Default Flop a boat, no slowplay

    4th hand of a $200 Turbo SNG

    PokerStars Game #1089024647: Tournament #4667397, Hold'em No Limit - Level I

    Seat 6: gap1974 (1500 in chips)
Seat 7: RETALIATE (1500 in chips)

    *** HOLE CARDS ***
    Dealt to michael1123
    RETALIATE: raises 20 to 40
    Stkboo: folds
    CarouselJim: folds
    nightcracker: folds
    shaniac: folds
    CurlyShuffle: folds

Minraise UTG, I'm immediately thinking high pocket pair being slowplayed, which also means big implied odds for my suited connector.

    michael1123: calls 40
    jbronx: calls 30
    gap1974: folds
    *** FLOP ***
    jbronx: checks
    RETALIATE: bets 140

He bets the pot at the flop and now I feel confident that he does have a high pocket pair. Thinking it over for a split second, I feel that raising would be much more disguised than just calling, as raises on flops like this usually are representing the 4 but really have a pair (6 or overpair) or a draw. I'm hoping he'll just shove in here.

michael1123: raises 260 to 400 - have to raise to an amount that looks like I could want a fold

jbronx: calls 400 - Wow! This was the biggest surprise of the hand. At this point I'm pretty sure he has the last 4, as only a fish would cold call with a 6 here. A flush draw is possible too, but pretty fishy to call a raise and a reraise here with it, especially on a paired board. Even shoving with a flush draw would be better, and more likely, than calling.

RETALIATE: calls 260 - Whew, bronx's cold call didn't scare him off. I think that was why he didn't reraise me, though.

    *** TURN ***
    jbronx: checks
    RETALIATE: checks
    michael1123: bets 400
jbronx: raises 860 to 1260 and is all-in
RETALIATE: calls 1060 and is all-in
    michael1123: calls 630 and is all-in
    *** RIVER ***
    *** SHOW DOWN ***
jbronx: shows (three of a kind, Fours)
RETALIATE: shows (two pair, Kings and Fours)
jbronx collected 60 from side pot
michael1123: shows (a full house, Fours full of Sixes)
michael1123 collected 4430 from main pot

Retaliate REALLY should've known to fold his KK on the turn, especially given Bronx's actions, but some people have problems letting go high pocket pairs, which is why implied odds hands can make so much money.

Anyway, thought this was an interesting hand. Its not often that I play a flopped boat so fast. Its not often that I get 2 people to go all in with me when I have a boat either. Circumstances and reads dictated that I'd likely get paid off more by playing outside of the box here.

wow nice Michael. I didnt think how powerfull 46 can be. Then again any 2 cards can be powerfull if the flop comes right.

Only thing scary was the 10 if he had 10-4.

    Nice play

    Corey
