Default MTT tourney - my last hand

I am pretty sure this is a bad beat - was I wrong to go all-in this fast? Or should I have just re-raised?

Well according to the way the hand turned out you played fine; meaning you got all the chips in when you had the best hand.

What I hate about playing JQo is that you are totally dominated by hands like AJ, AQ, KQ, and KJ just to name a few. These are hands that are frequently played from any position, so the more players there are in the hand, the weaker your QJ gets... You're basically hoping for two pair or a straight.

Anyhow there were only 3 players seeing the flop on that hand, including yourself, so the odds of someone having you outkicked were fairly low. So overall I think you played it as well as any good player could have.

I would have played it the same way. Think about what hands can beat you that your opponent could have. You are out kicked if he has KJ or AJ. But since he was the big blind he may have limped with these hands, but many would try to steel the pot pre-flop with these hands, so the it isn’t likely that he has either of these hands. He could have JJ, but if he had that, he should have raised pre-flop, so this hand is highly unlikely. Since he did only limp in as the big blind he could have a hand with a 2 or a 3 or both. If he has both you are you are beat, but what is the chance? He could have an A4 or A5 and have a shot at the straight and in this case he could beat you but going all in is a good option to reduce he pot odds and make the call incorrect for him. I would have played it exactly the same.
    Thanks,

This was fine, it was a bad beat, and therefore should be in the Bad Beats Thread.

One thing I would have done differently is push preflop, you only have 7.5 BB left, QJo is a fine hand to push with.

Either way you are beat. If he's going all-in with you, he's willing to call anything smaller and still pick up trips. He had outs with the flush draw and a 2 on the board and he was the lowest stack. That's the reason he stayed in the hand. Tough break.
