Default DID U PUSH TOO SOON WITH CRAP?

Quick question unfortunately I cant find the hand to post here. But ill tell you what roughly happened. Im sitting in mid position with blinds at 100-200 and I have about 1500 in chips and get dealt 33. Now normally I dont push in this position with anything other then AA,KK,QQ,AK,AQ,and maybe QKs & AJs AND as long as the pot is only limped into and not raised. But I told myself whenever I was in the push zone (push zone to me is when I have 7xbb or less without antes in affect or 8xbb or less with antesn in* affect) I would push with anything I normally push with but ill add every pocket pair all the way down to deuces as well. So, I pushed with 33 and bb called me with QKs and drew a open-ended straight draw and a flush draw which he made on the river. So do you think pushing here was too soon with this kinda hand? Because I know most players would probably say to not push here with 33 yet to go ahead and push with say TT or JJ,which makes no sense to me because either way im probably still a coinflip in winning. Just like JJ would have been to QK.Anyway ill appreciate your comments and thoughts towards this.....

You did fine. 33 is either 50/50 against KQs or a slight favourite. Don't feel bad, you made the right move. Here let me post a history of a very similar situation that turned out very nicely.

I knew it was a coinflip. I had to make a move with the stack I had. I wouldn't regret losing in that situation because I know I got my chips in when it counted; I had a 50+% chance to double up my chips and be a threat in the tournament.

BTW I ended up winning the whole tourney (over 600 entries!)

I think you were playing to win. I see nothing wrong with it.

Actually this is pretty much a best case (coinflip)scenario for 7XBB left. The problem with pushing 33 is not getting called and drawn out by KQ or even 78, but by 99. That's why it's better to push with JJ/TT since given you want a call, if they guy has a pocket, you'd much rather have it be lower (duh)
