nice post ripp. couldn't have read it at a better time either. i am playing in a WPT sattelite next weekend, and i have a tendency to play a little too tight. this kinda opened my eyes and reminded me that i need to take some risks and let the other guys play tight while i take down the pot with middle pair. thanks for the reawakening ripp.

I think this paragraph is extremly important, it covers leverage, which, as Rippy has said many times, and what I have now come to believe, is very important is MTTs. When you get chips, don't hide em, use em!

You’ve probably heard the phrase, “Chips are power.” Understand why. When you have them, besides being feared because you can take an opponent out, you can do so much more at the table. You can pick up blinds and antes, gamble against the short stacks, run over the table, come over the top and take pots away from your opponents, and, simply put, just make plays. When you are short-stacked, your hands are tied. Basically, you must wait for a hand and hope to double up.
