    Default Big Thanks

Just wanted to extend myself and say thanks to everyone here at FTR. As some of you know I was leaving poker about 3 weeks ago after what seemed like an endless down spiral. Some adviced me to try things other then ring NL games and from doing that I discovered how much I enjoy tournament NL whether they be SNG's or MTT. For the past week I did a lot of research here and some books on tournament strategies. This weekend I decided to start with a fresh BR and give it a shot. I played 6 SNG's yesterday on Pokerstars (recommended here) 3 $5+.5 and 3$10+1
I won 1 at both stakes and placed 2nd on 4 others and 4th on one $5.5 just from a bad beat where I got rivered. I must say its always fun to win, but I really enjoy the strategy and tactics involved in tournaments just the same.

Just thought I'd say thanks to all that urged me not to give up the game. Also I'd like to extend a special thank you to Ripptyde for his notorious 74o which heads up on a $10 SNG I went all in and won the tournament against QJo.

    Thanks Again FTR!

Great Job! Keep an eye on why you're winning, what works, what doesn't, where you just got lucky, etc. and you can start creating consistency and have the time of your life.

My biggest advice would be to keep track of your SnG play with an excel chart. It helps you keep track of ROI and ITM percentages, along with $/hr and just overall tracking statistics.

I'm finding myself of this opinion more and more. In tourneys, what an opponent has in front of him is all he has. He cannot rebuy or get back in. It adds a stable element to the game. To watch a short stack limp and then put him to the test for his tourney life is what hold em is about. It's hard to do when the 'WTF I'll just rebuy' element exists.
