    Default On Rounders

I wouldn't dis The Movie or anything -- I mean, I love it as much as the next guy -- but the more I think about it the more I'm drawn to a decidedly non-cinematic but inescapable conculsion:

Knish is right, and Mike is kind of a moron.

I mean, he put his whole bankroll into One Hand. I know people who have been banned from IRC for that (I think). Then he did it again, this time with maybe his life on the line? What gives?

Just normal hollywood "stuff"? Live fast & die young & leave a pretty corpse. Pfft.

Or am I just getting too pragmatic in my old age?

yeah man.. the movie should have been about mike griding out the low limits and moving up when he's got that 300bb, reading Sklansky everyonce inawhile.

Maybe he could post on 2+2 once in a while while 4-tabling 2/4 on Party.

    Now THAT'S a movie.

Now that would be a comedic triumph of cinematic awesomeness!

Besides, how come Teddy was so sure that he'd won the first time? He just flips his aces over and leaves and lets his gorilla (no offense 500lb) pick up the chips. What if mike would turn over 99?

well to answer ur question because kgb is special breed of human called a ghost who has been trained in the art of telepathy and can see through ur eyes and also disappear just by thinking about it - he tried to disguise it in the movie so he wouldnt be hunted down and murdered but ive seen him do it in real life so i know he can

Whether or not it had too much of a 'Hollywood' element, Rounders is a classic movie.

I'm just waiting for the young-kid-from-the-streets-made-it-big-through-poker movie (a la Good Will Hunting meets 8 Mile). Should be here soon, and could be interesting if done right.

Yep, also contribute with more fish to the tables if it turns out to be a big production with lots of PR.

Okay. Points taken and stuff. My taste in movies is, I think, more like Xianti's and 1123's.

In related news, where the hell is 1123?

The palm of death is my favorite move pre-flop. The only one more effective is the mind trick I do.

Take your index finger and pinky and wiggle them while saying, "Na, na na na na na na." a la Chevy Chase in Caddyshack.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

Now THAT would've had the critics creaming their pants and the audiences lined up around the block. Hehe...
