Good move/Bad move?

    Default Good move/Bad move?

Lately, in the first part of a SnG/MTT, i've been going limping in with almost anything. (with no raise, or a small raise)

I'm talking about things as bad as 86o, but not as bad as 83o.

Basically, anything that can make a straight.

The reasoning for this is that you can often get into a large pot by hitting a dream flop with these hands and because the blinds are so low at the time, you are taking a very small risk.

    1500 chips with a 10/20 or 20/40 blind and i *think* it's worth doing.

    That Fish playing?

    Thoughts?

It's not unreasonable, especially if you've won a big hand (like doubled up early) and can exert some stack leverage. Since only 1 in 8 flops will hit you at all you are bleeding allot of chips.

Also, got to be superdisiplined when you hit like top pair on a ragged flop.

    Wastin' away again in margaritaville....
I prefer to limit it to suited connectors up to 2-gappers early.... Less bleeding of chips and you have extra outs with the flush.

That sounds like a good way to play it.

    Thanks

The problem with this is, if you get caught chasing often and people take notice, your regular bluffs or blind steals will called or reraised later in the tourny when you need some free chips.

The only way playing low-mid connectors or gappers works is if you get out when the flop doesn't make your hand or you if you can get to the turn for nothing.

That is not a bad idea... make sure when you are making these calls, you have hands with a lot of outs such as gapped cards, or suited cards. Look for pots where you have good pot odds as well.

well here you couldnt have had 86o due to no 9 coming down...

you must have had 89 and yes I think its good to call with the blinds low...
