Ok, guys, sorry for the delay on this. In speaking to our Caribbean Sun guy, we can only host the event at 5:15pm PT (8:15pm EST) - this sucks for me cuz now I can't even participate. And, they could not host it this Thursday (2/24/05) but can host it next Thursday (3/03/05).

Here's the info I received:

I will go ahead and get it scheduled for Thursday, March 3rd at 8:15pm EST. Yes, it must start at 8:15pm EST. This is a new policy set forth by the software provider, Cryptologic.

Considering how difficult it is to coordinate this with them, I told them just to schedule it.

So, the event is scheduled for THURSDAY, MARCH 3rd, 5:15pm PT! Mark your calendars - this is a free tournament with a real money payout to FTR members.

For every 10 players that participate, they will add in a $100!!

I will get more details from our rep, but I believe the tournament will be available 24 hours prior to kickoff, so that's when I think you can register. You do not need to deposit for this, since it's free!

Yeah, Jes, I emailed him about that too. In previous discussions, he told me we just needed 10. So I'm following up on that one.

Here are the details so far from our rep:

Players will see the private tournament 24 hours prior to the start of the tournament.

Do the players need to make a deposit to play in the freeroll?

No. They will need to buyin with 100 poker points. Players automatically receive 100 poker points for signing up an account with Caribbean Sun. They will need to check the 100 PP box on the buyin screen. The ONLY way a player would not be able to get into this tournament, is if they have played in another private freeroll or used up their 100 poker points on something else. I have attached a shot of the buyin screen. Again, please make sure they check the 100 PP box for the buyin.

Will we be able to throw another freeroll in April (many cannot make this date/time)?

For sure. Just note that if your players play in this freeroll (March) and do not accumulate 100 PP for the April freeroll, they will not be able to participate in the April one. They may buyin on the April freeroll for $1 though if they wish, if they don't have the 100 PP.

I'm glad it's so early, might stay up late and play, fridays are pretty quiet, and we should definitely get everyone to sign up regardless, though there was that condition that if you enter this one and don't play on Carib then you can't enter the next one, so that may put people off.

So, the freeroll is set, and we'll do another one in April. So you need 100 poker points to join - you get 100 of those just for signing up. If you want to play in the April freeroll, you'll have to earn another 100 poker points or pay $1... still a great deal.

my read on him says he has a high pocket pair. the very first hand (you might not remember because not everyone takes note of the first hand) he had AK and I had QJ. Flop was J high and I raised his bet and he folded. So for him to go all-in this hand he must have had something.

Yea was hoping to power play him a little bad play I know... I realize that it wasn't the smartest thing in the world… my plan didn’t work the way I wanted it to. The plan was to make him think I had the pp and that was obviously a bunch of bull shit, I was playing more of him then the hand I was dealt because he had been playing kind of loose in similar situations I figured I might be able to take the pot from him but I’m still curious what he had, I hade him on pp over the top card that hit the board but I might have been wrong... Yeah. I'd played sort of weak up to that point, and twice had made that move with the UTG raise, and been reraised. It wasn't that I was in there with weak hands.. one was a low PP, the other the AK that DavSimon was talking about, and laid it down to the reraise.

You'd been kind of bullying people, and me, a lot due to position. I smelled overcards that missed, and decided to put an end to the shenanigans.

The tournament is set up prior to the actual event. We need to know how many people you could send to the tournament prior to setting it up. Based on what you told me, we set the prize pool for that number of people. You mentioned between 10-20 players in your previous email, so I went with a safe bet of 10 player minimum in case some people didn't show up. We'd rather have people play then not be able to because we set the minimum number of players to high. If we would have set the minimum number of players at 20, the prize pool would have been $200.

So we really needed to have the emails and number of players before the tournament. Unfortunately for our winners, the prize pool will not be adjusted.
