Default SOMEBODY DIVORCE ME FROM TPTK!!!

    OK...

I'm in MP, with about 6000 chips on 100/200 blinds. I get dealt AK of hearts, folds to me so I make it 600 to call, half-hoping for a blind steal, half-hoping to get a call and catch the flop. One guy calls (he has 9000 chips), SB calls (SB has 4500 chips), BB folds.

    Flop is A J 4

    I bet 1st, so I check. 1st guy bets 400, SB raises 800, I call 800 1st guy folds.

    Turn is a 7

I bet 800, He raises 1600. This is where I made my mistake, but the notes I had on this guy was that he would play aggresive with mid pair and TPLK... I put him on either JK or Ax low-ish. So I test him by re-raising him all in, he instantly calls... Shit... flips 77 (I know, not 44, wtf was he doing on the flop)... Long story short, I get raped by TPTK, cant recover, and lose my chance at a $10,000 prize pool that only cost me $3 to get in, with only 200 ppl signed up. STBM i know...

How can i get divorced from TPTK? I'm willing to go all in with it (and when I do, I USUALLY END UP WINNING!) and I know thats a bad thing, but it's a winning play in the long run (the site I play at is fishy). I had a read on him as a fish, but am I the fish? Any help appreciated.

I dont se how it can be a fishy play if your reads make you win these hands more than you lose'em! If you play against fish you cant put them on trips every hand, its when your starting to think that fish make the same plays as good players your actually a fish yourself... and on it goes. the buttom line if you know he's a dumbass overagressive forcing fish its nothing wrong to play tptk strong and fast.

What about a check-raise on the flop, instead of a check-call? I don't think I would have wanted to see anymore cards.

There's no way to get away from this. You could have reraised ai on the flop, but you're trying to extract as many chips as possilbe at this pont. You had the right read, he just got lucky. When he raised on the flop I would have put him on Ace Face and called to to string out the betting and get more of his chips instead of scaring him off. I could play this hand in that position 20 times and would have played it the same way every time.

    Don't sweat it!!

Agreed, you should have put the pressure on him on the flop. TPTK is a good hand, but you want to isolate big time with it. Try to get heads up with the hand next time
