Default My general style incompatible with SnG's?

Hi. I'm a low stakes NL player, and I got sick of losing money at regualr 10 man tables so I switched to SnG's. I am a lot better there. I play a very tight game (especially initially) and let the idiots all-in and get out. Often times I will play only a few hands for the first 30 minutes but when I play a hand I make it count, usually by doubling up.

The problem is I'm not very aggressive and when it comes down to the last 4 people I let them blinds steal a lot. When blinds go up I get irritated because I disliike going all in, it's just too risky and I consider myself not too much of a risk taker (if I have to think about whether or not to fold, I usually fold. I rarely call, I either reraise or dump my hand.) but anyways, large blinds scare me and I am not aggressive enough to make it to #1 most of the time.

Any general advice for late game SnGs?

be the one stealing the blinds when it gets to 4 people and you'll make it to the bigger money more...

It sounds like you already figured it out.

I would think those last three players have been paying attention, and know that you have the goods when you are in. Use that table image to your advantage.
    • Check one good hand and when someone tries a blindsteal, check raise them -- it probably doesn't even need to be a good hand, except to make you feel secure -- you'll get more folds and see more BB hands after that. If it wears off, do it again.

Raise "strong-risky" on a few hands yourself and be happy with the blinds you suddenly get. You'll learn to prefer this instead of trying to play the flop for more chips with your "killer" hand.

Once you get the feel for that, blind steal three hands in a row to show them they are pussies -- when your fourth hand comes in QQ, someone will call you.

You already know what's missing. It's only $5.50. Get pushy. One 1st place will pay for 3 extra losses. One 2nd place pays for one extra loss. Fourth place pays nothing.

yes, play more aggressively when it gets 4-handed. Remember, other people are worried about going out in 4th as well. You also have the added advantage if, as u say, u have been a tight player, then your raises still gain respect.
