ITM % and ROI

    Default ITM % and ROI

    $10+$1 SNG's played: 78
    Ist: 11
    2nd: 10
    3rd: 12
    ITM %: 42%
    Buy ins: $858
    profits: +$231
    ROI: 27%

I was wondering if my ITM % and ROI is considered good and if not what is generally considered to be good. I'm thinking about moving up to the $20+$2 SNG's and wanted to know if it is recommended with my stats.

Very good, it is sustainable at 10+1's if you play 2 tables or so, but I think it will go down by few percents (itm/roi) if you were to play 4 + tables.

40% ITM and 20% ROI is considered pretty good.

but I strongly suggest you play at least 300 SNGs before moving up because 78 doesn't really tell us much.

While it is true that 78 SnGs is not a large sample....in the end your bankroll and confidence should be the deciding factors in stepping up. With your ITM% I would not step up to the $20+2 level with any less than $350....and $450 would be a safer bankroll to weather the swings of you adjustment period. In the grand scheme of things $20+2 is not significanly more difficult than the $10+1 level.....however you will have to play position, play patiently and once you get down to 3-4 people they will be better than the average player you have come across so far.

    What is your bankroll?
How long have you been playing SnGs?
How many hours a week do you play?
Why do you play SnGs? (do you play ring or do you aspire to be a tourney player)

It is more of a bankroll thing, I think. Poker isn't investing in mutual funds. There's always an element of risk. You could obviously do a mix. Play 3 $10 games and 1 $20 game, etc. If you hit on the $20 game then you're bankroll get a relatively healthy boost. But you're not making a major move that might affect your play and mentality.

    40% ITM is good.

    Dav said it.

It looks from the numbers that you are doing quite well. So now that you know that, it's up to all of those other factors to decide to step up. If you've withdrawn a lot of your winnings, then obviously you probably don't have the roll to step up. That's what I did for a long time back when I was playing at Party, I just stuck to the $10's.

    BR is $700
Been playing Sng's about 3 months
    I play about 15-20 hours a week now (1st 2 months was about 10)
I only play SNG's and a couple MTT's but no ring (mainly because i lost about $150 the first day i played in a ring game even though i had a few bad beats). I think i am a much better tourney player, so i stick with that.

Take your shot at 20$ SnGs, there is not too much of a difference between players in the 20$ SnGs from my experience. The same fish still float around in these tourneys, just have nicer payouts. With a 700$ BR you should be set.

I agree with iwa, It you absolutely have the bankroll for the $20+2 SnGs. I would ease into them and see how you do before you start 2-tabling them....make sure you have made the adjustment (albiet small) before exposing your bankroll to a higher per hour risk.

Maybe play four per night (provided you play roughly 4 hours/night) Five if you can....After 20, check to be sure your ITM% has not dropped, if not then start 2-tabling them with 15-20 minute staggered starts. With your bankroll you could really dabble in the $30+3 SnGs as well...they are no different than the $20 ones, just a little tougher to fill a table quickly. After 100 re-evaluate you ITM% and ROI to be sure things are on track....if so start looking towards $50+5 - Good luck!

Make sure you easy through these though, don't get ahead of yourself as Dav said... You have to crawl before you can walk
