    Default Did a little experiment...

Last night I wanted to work on my chip stack in mtts. I am not one of those can build a chip stack very quickly. So last night I played in 2 $1 mtts. Placing both in the top30s. sure 6+ hours of work got me like $10 but its good experience. 1 MTT before the break I had right at around 4500 chips and the other 1600 chips. Before the 2nd break I get up to 9k in each.

I think this was a good way to work on my chip stack and experience...

both of these mtts had over 1300 people. The first one had about 2000

Instead of telling us what you did, why don't you tell us how you did it?

AHH yes sorry. I played tight early. Come over the top of other people with big hands. and really just kept it tight and let the cards fall. Once the blinds got bigger I had a tight image so I decided to start stealing blinds. Normally after the antes start... And I got some cards to help out the stack

I'm confused...how is this an experiement with your chip stack? Isn't that 'normal' play?

I would have thought working on your chip stack would have been an excercise in early loose agressive play to build it quickly or die..

Crunch good point. I was one of those players that had a hard time growing a stack at all. Always the short stack later in mtts. I just decided to change the approach. $1 mtts let me screw around with how I play. Plus its fun to go all in with AA againt K9 q10 crap like that....

A better experiment might be to try playing every draw potential hand. Play your stack a little on the wild side with any draw potential. Preflop is easy just raise any suited connectors or suited Q and up 2-3xBB. Then when you catch a piece rip into them with large bets. I find that this is the easiest way to build a stack quickly and efficiently. I find a way to win with the hand I play. As long as you can read your opps you should have no problem domintaing this way.
Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.

I lack in this area too, I can make it ITM fairly easily, but I just can't bluff multiple pots like some of the FTR guys do. I'm starting to understand though, it's LAgg style that gets you 1st, and you either bust out or quadruple up your stack.
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately
