Default The joyful taste of suited connectors

Lots of pot stealing had been going on, so I decided I'd play with some mid-suited connectors in an effort to catch a well-disguised hand. Caught top pair (til river) w/ fl draw. With this guy's aggression, I decided the Rope-a-dope strat was the way to go. Became chipleader and won the thing (my second win ever at a $5 SnG). In hindsight, maybe I should have pushed the river. The change in his play made me wonder if he'd finally caught a peice though.

Perhaps the best part was after the hand, when he remarked "I can't believe you played that crap." To which I responded with Fnord's classic "Shhh...I'm counting your chips"

Hand #4928598-85 at SnG-0037q (No Limit Hold'em Sit and Go)

I would probably raise the turn. The check on the river tells you it is your pot. Unless you had been extremely aggressive in this SnG (betting big into weakness), I doubt anyone would check the river intending to check-raise when they had been leading the betting the whole way. Grabbing those extra chips in situations like this is something I need to work on in my tourney play.

I hadn't been especially aggressive, but the table as a whole was an aggro fest. I see your points though...just thought it smelled bad that he changed gears when the overcard hit. Guess it could (and was) a sign of weakness.

usually, i've noticed, if aggression from the flop goes weak on the river, they don't have much or are afraid of betting.

If it's the opposite though, they usually have you beat big time, or are bluffing you.
