    Default HeadHunter Tournaments...

I need some advice on how to play these tournaments

    Here is the link: http://www.jetsetpoker.com/ipage.asp?i=hunt

    Quote:
We are excited to present another exclusive JetSetPoker innovation: the HeadHunter Challenge™ !

The JetSetPoker HeadHunter Challenge™ is an exciting new tournament format in which players earn cash bounties for each opponent they eliminate or "bust" from the event -the higher the most recently concluded Weekly Tournament Leader Board ("TLB") rank of the player, the greater the cash value of their bounty. Even if you are new to JetSetPoker or your most recent Weekly TLB rank is nothing to brag about, everyone can join in the fun as all "heads" have a price. A player's bounty is determined relative to the field of participants they are competing against in the HeadHunter Challenge™. To add even more excitement and an element of suspense, individual players' cash bounties are not revealed until the start of the tournament.

A percentage of the total prize pool in each HeadHunter Challenge™ is allocated towards cash bounties while the remaining percentage is paid out according to the Tournament Payout Schedule. Players receive the bounty prizes they collect by busting opponents immediately after they conclude their tournament run, irrespective of their ultimate finish in the event. It is therefore theoretically possible for a player to finish out of the money in the tournament yet collect enough bounties to earn more cash prizes than the actual 1st place finisher of the event!

Everyone has a price. What's yours?
The seeding of a Headhunter Challenge player is determined by:

The player's ranking from the previous weekly period
The number of entrants in the HeadHunter Challenge™
The size of the buy-in amount
The above variables are used to calculate the cash bounty assigned to each respective participant's "head." This cash bounty is awarded to the person who eliminates that player from the HeadHunter Challenge™.
Seeding is determined based on the concluded Weekly TLB ranking from the previous weekly period.
Player seeds are then utilized, along with the total number of tournament entrants and the buy-in amount, to calculate the bounty assigned to each participant. The highest seeded player will be assigned the largest bounty.
Any player ranked below the top 500 from the last completed Weekly TLB will be assigned the same baseline bounty.
Since the determination of each individual bounty depends on the respective rankings of all tournament entrants, the number of entrants, and the buy-in amount, the bounty amount for each player will not be known until registration closes and players are seated at their tables.
The bounties of all players will be clearly displayed beneath their JetSet PokerFace™ while they are seated at the tournament table.
Because the bounties are set at the start of the tournament, players are not allowed to join tournaments in process.
    End Quote:

Now, I need your insight on this:

    1) Would this tournament potentially be more profitable then other tournaments of the same buy-in?

    2) Would you change your strategy going into this tournament, given the circumstances?

    3) How would you act differently if you were one of the biggest bounties? One of the smallest bounties?

    Any insight/opinions appreciated.

    himself fucker.
    Play to win?

Don't expect those with big bounties to be bluffing much.

If you get a big stack, I'd put in a little effort towards busting people without going way out of line.

Just play your normal game and hope you bust some people on the road to victory.

ya, we play bounties in at my home games. everyone buys in for ten bucks and then puts 10 bucks under their chips. if you take somebodys last chip, you get their 10 bucks too. I just play normally, unless I get a really big stack, then i just start tapping people. not so much as to take them out, but more to bully them. they know they not only lose their buy-in, but they lose their bounty too.
