IP has a tourny called six-pack. Buy-is is low, only about $20. Usually they get 80-100 players.

Every table is 6-handed throughout the game and often 4-5 handed as players bust out and get shuffled around.

It is a fun format, especially for those who like to mix it up at the 6 max tables. Obviously, you play a lot more hands than a monotonous 10 player per table MTT.

I've had some succes playing it. It's not a huge payday but it is fun and useful for short handed play.
