    Default WSOP Inter Satellite...tips?

Just won a super-satellite at Inter into the Interpoker satellite for the WSOP main event seat. I've done pretty well with SNG's, But this spring I've decided to focus on MTT's for the next couple months.

The seat I won is 150 + 15 for the Main Event. Allegedly, 1 in 80 win a seat in Vegas all expenses paid.

Any tips on strategy and how the process works for those who might win?

I think Harrington on holdem might be a perfect read for the satellite.

How many really serious players do you think will be playing in the satellite? I'm sure that would make a difference on the strategy to be used.

Is that even an option on Interpoker?

Also, 165 bucks isn't that much unless you play $10 or $20 SnGs.

I think it's healthy to "chase the dream" if you're givin the opportunity.

Cashing in the WSOP could make your year.

Yeah...I'm serious, and I understand the long-shot nature of these satellites.

I'm tired of 1-table SNG's, and this is the beginning of my foray into MTT's.

But, I will say I didn't get "Lucky" once the whole super satellite, I only won hands I was favored. Nonetheless, I'm sure it will be tough...I'll report back on my results...

It's looking like just under 400 participants. I think 5 will make it to Vegas...

Ended up finishing 112 out of 420 players. Really wasn't ready for the seemingly maniacal aggression of many players.

Seemed like every time I tried to limp or take pots, someone would play back strong at me or go AI. Then the last hour, I got almost no face cards.

    Lessons:
    - Seek out passive players and steal pots more
    - Push back on bullys with lots of outs and big implied odds
    - Limping just doesn't happen...stay away from limping hands once the blinds get big.

    Other thoughts?

Yeah, it sounds like you need more MTT experience, and should start off with playing some of the low buyin ones. Passive poker just doesn't win MTTs, and its even more important to be aggressive than to be tight (as proven by Gus Hansen's success). Once the blinds get big, its going to be the aggressive players that get most of the chips, and limping and waiting for big hands just isn't going to cut it.

Hansen is LAG, but what about players like Harrington who are TAG?? Isnt stealing at oppurtune moments the real key?

? All I said is that aggression is more important than being tight in MTTs.

sorry, when you mentioned Hansen I immediately got the image of LAG over TAG. My jump to conclusions mat had all the wrong conclusions.

Yeah, I've read about half of Harrington's book...and all of it makes sense to me...I play a very similar style. However, very much like Harrington, if I get denied a couple times early, and then don't get cards, I can struggle. This is exactly what happened Sunday.

I did another super-sat last night with 30 people...only one spot for the satellite. I finished 1st and got the seat---April 10th, I'll give it another shot.

Anyone have suggestions for juicy mid-sized MTT satellites? Say, 50-250 players for a good payout? Of note, I typically like ones with a small buy-in (under $20)...part of the motivating factor for me to parlay a small amount into a large payout.
