    Default Anyone else this stupid??

This is Something I just started doing...

Every once in a while I'll go in a hand to bluff... Basically, I need to think that the people in the pot can be bluffed out, and the players in the pot are bad enough (or good enough) that a big bet is scary even with a big pot...

For example... I'm on the button, 3 limp in, I limp, BB raises to 200 and everyone calls... ~1000 chips in the pot... BB checks, UTG+2 bets 50, 1 fold, 1 call, and then I bet 600...

The idea is that bad players tend to not understand that an 600 bet into a pot of ~1100 isnt that huge of a bet, and I normally (75%+) of the time win the pot right there.

So far that move is making money for me, but that could just be good luck.

    Anyone else do this?

    Thanks

getting 3 other people out of a hand is a hard thing to do. If I caught no piece of hte flop, I dont bet into 3 people. Although in this case, all three seem very very weak and can be pushed off of the pot.

I go into hands to win. Sometimes that means bluffing. I don't go into hands to bluff. Think about it...

I only make what little I do make at poker because I only play bad players =)

I only make as much money as I do because I seek out bad players and punish them harshly for making their favorite mistake. Usually their failing is playing too many hands and calling too much.

if it works 50 % + of the time that you call the raise or so, it's a good play. With these fish I have trouble believing you'll be able to maintain that, they aren't going to want to let go of top pair.

I tend to agree wtih Fnord - you'll end up needing to bluff to win plenty of pots when you start with a legit holding, no reason to limp in to give yourself more chances. If you know you're bluffing going in, raise pre flop.
