THe flop bet was just a continuatino bet.
THe turn bet, i didnt think he had anything still, and he pushed so I folded. =(

good news is that I ended up getting 2nd in the tourney, ending my 9 SNG OTM streak.

Bad news is that If i keep making plays like this ILl be swingy forever.

Why the raise to 350 chips? Consider that the extra 50 chips adds a lot to the post flop bet escalation.

Got a read on JRael? What's his calling standard? If you give it up after the flop, what kind of position do you think you'll be in to win it given the strength of the remaining players?

I usually bet a little more than half pot on the flop to avoid too many loose calls and so I don't have to make another bet on the turn. Also, consider that you probably have the best hand on this flop so be willing to throw in a few more chips to protect it.

The king is a horrible card for you, I would often check/fold after the flop call.

    Hitting the breaks is hard.

No read on anyone, I was studying Bio at the time =D.
If I give it up im short stacked, but Im confident to make it back up, although being at 10xBB isnt where I want to be.

Alot of the time i find that making a bet on the turn will get people to fold their hands. I mean people are ctaching onto the continuation bet, or they are in my opinion. Making a turn bet creates the illusion of having a real hand.

    If the turn was a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 I rpobably would have called the push.

Good fold there... I like the continuation, however, the check/fold is valid here as well.

Seems like it's time to switch gears. Tighten up for an orbit or 3.

ya but considering that I play so few hands, the Continuation bet is a stack builder. WIth those low cards he has crap anyways. BAH.

Hey FNORD or anyone else for that matter, wats your opinion on a continuation bet on fourth street? Is it viable only if you know your opponent will be expecting a continuation bet on the flop?

Decent str8 draw out with the 89, lots of people might have called on the flop with it but will now give it up on the turn. I like the bet and the fold.
