    Default Pushing or Checking pf?

SnG. 5 people left, and due to a run of bad cards or whatever have you, you're the lowest stack of the 5.

Unfortunately for you you're on the BB, with blinds as 100/200 and you have about 1000 chips. Everyone folds, and the SB simply calls the BB. You get dealt 6 8 offsuit. What is your move? See the flop for free or go all in to try to take his blinds?

If you push, you run the risk of SB calling with a better hand. If you see the flop, you run the risk of having to gamble with your poor hand and losing.

is losing 1000 chips meaningful to the SB ? If he is a bigstack I wouldn't do it. I think it depends on the read. If he is a calling station then check it off and play the flop. If he is weak then just push preflop.

Generally I raise this 3xbb. I have position, so I'd like to get a few chips in the pot and represent a face card if it comes.

He can't raise 3BB! He only has 5! (or 4 if you count the blind he is posting).

If the SB checks (well, completes) to you, that is severe weakness. He wants you out of the tourney, and wants your chips. Why let you see a cheap flop?

I would push, unless you have reason to believe he's trying to trick you into pushing (like, you have folded to a bunch of blind steals, and he has a premium hand.

That being said... this situation describes about 50% of my last 10 SNGs (2-table)... and I lost them all.
