Floppin a flush...

SnG lvl 1, just had 8c9c on the button, tilting a bit so I limped in...

the once in 120 or whatever time occurs and I flop the flush, now I figure the chances of someone else ALSO floppin the flush must be so slim that its well worth me gettin all my chips in there, unfortunatly he had JcQc

what do you think of my reasoning?

I would think the same. Now an overcard of the suit will often stick around hoping for a 4th of the suit. But, I thought about saying "depending on how many are in the pot", but I wouldn't even consider that to be honest. At this point you have to watch for Another Club, because then you're dead. But I consider someone FLOPPING a larger flush to be about as possible as someone flopping trips to beat my trips (with both of you having a pocket pair).

there are times with a ton of people in preflop and 2 to the flush come, that I can be pretty certain that someone else is hunting the flush, and I will be more careful with a crappy flush. But you generally see that one developing through the betting.

how did the betting go? What did the flop look like? This is a tough spot, for sure, but I'd also say remember Doyle & try not to go broke in a nothing pot.

How do you figure that Flopping a flush is any different than drawing to a flush (with regard to the same two people with the same four cards in both situations) isn't it just a difference of when the cards come? It seems the odds would be exactly the same either way. Please excuse my ignorance but I'm just seeking your reasoning.
