Default Something I need to get better at

On the bubble in a 25+2 SNG. This player was pretty loose, but previously he had only cold called my raises. Also, he reraised a small enough amount as if he wanted a call. I felt pretty clearly at the time that I was beat. But I called anyway. I think I need to learn to make these tough folds. Encouragement or further admonishing is welcome.

Witht that small stakc there, do you really need to steal? If your willing to go all in preflop, why not just go all in preflop in the first place?

If your not willing to go all in there, and ur just considering ur AJo a raise to steal the blinds, if someone reraises would you be better off just folding ur AJo?

Also, If you think hes restealing, then there is nothing you can do there. Put ur chips in there and hope that your right.

I'll share with you somethings I need to constantly drill into my own head.

Is this hand really the one I want to risk my whole tournament life on?

    THat's a toughie.
It may have been a good idea to push all-in to begin with.
Otherwise, folding would've been a good thing to do.
In other words...I agree with what's already been said.

I think you've said it yourself here Rocky. This guy has cold-called all of your raises and, all of a sudden, he re-raises?! ....... I think that, given what you have put above, you can put him on any of the following .... AA, KK, AKs and maybe QQ .......... all of which have you pretty dominated. I think you have to learn to make a tough laydown there. You would still be left with 1600-1700 in chips which is plenty enough to do some damage to someone.

Calling an all-in with A-J or A-Q is something you have to force yourself to quit doing. I realize that you reraised him the last 660, but there is no way he was not calling off that last little bit. Your pre-flop raise was good, but when he comes over the top of you for 1K more what he is trying to do is get you to commit all your chips without blatently putting you all in and possibly scaring you off....that should set off warning bells in your head. At best you are a coin flip with an under pair at worst you are completely dominated, either way you are behind - Spook said it....do you want to put your tourney life on the line at the bubble with A-J preflop?

BTW, I was famous for doing the same thing for the longest time...but my personal nemesis was A-Q....Soupie finally beat sense into my head, and he still enjoys needling me about it.
