Default Bad push with PP? (again)

This kind of play busted me out of 3 MTTs yesterday . I found myself a little short stacked and wanted to get the chips without a fight, or I was looking for a flip. Too bad I dont have HHs from bodog but this is a good example IMO as well.

As I think of this now, if I woulda used a bit more time to think about this I probably would have just folded this, calling doesnt seem an option here or what do you think?

Pretty short stacked sitting in the BB with pocket 9s....and the blinds at 50/100....you are going to have to win several hands to go any further. A 4x raise from the big stack just looks like he is leaning on you - I push here as well....the play was fine, you simply ran into a larger PP.....ooops

I think you made the right play, you were pretty short stacked and by reraising all in you sandwiched ledzep who had to either fold there or reraise strongly to protect a good hand because the third player still had to act behind him. Unfortunately for you he had a very strong hand but there is no way you could have put either one of them on such a strong hand. From my experience when you do the raise all in you normally end up against one player (which is what you would hope to do with a pair of 9s) because the second guy normally folds or reraises to isolate (because of the sandwich effect).

If not for the call between you and big stack, I like the play. Given that there was an extra caller, I'm a bit iffier. You know at least one of them has a good hand. Could be looking at another PP, in which case it's about 50-50 for if their the 80% favorite or you are. Could be looking at two overs, in which case it's just a coin flop. Since there are two callers, there's a decent chance you're looking at both, meaning that at best you're .55*.8 = .44 => 44% underdog to win. At worst, you're looking at .2 * .2 = 4% to win. More than likely, you're somewhere in between.

Sure, you're short stack, but you're not that hurting yet. With no caller, I push. In earlier position/facing no raise, I push. With a raise and a caller, I think you can find a better spot. You've got around 60 hands to try anyway.

I was in this situation last night except I held 77. I was just waiting for a spot to push because the cards had not been good for me. My thinking was that if my stack got any smaller then my all-in would mean nothing to a big stack and I'd get called. I was looking to blind steal if I could so I had to push with 77 in MP (but got two callers with overcards & lost to AQo). As far as calling a raise with this hand, I'm 50/50. Raiser is the big stack so it is suspicious but in ep I'm thinking he might just have a hand. I think if you are going to play you've gotta push like you did. Too bad it wasn't just overcards.
I'll be a rootin' tootin' shootin' damn fool, protectin' my chips.

Thanks for the post. That helps me, too.
These guys are right. That extra caller made things a bit tricky.
But it was a good play. I had that happen to me, too, so don't feel bad.
