Default How Should I Have Played This?

After looking back, I should have either folded pre-flop or raised. I have an early opportunity to double up or bust out.

I don't think that AQ is a re-raising hand PF, so would the right play be to fold and wait until I have a chance to be the first one to raise? It's still early and there would have been lots of poker to play.

It was early so I didn't have any concrete reads, but I had him on at least AT.

I'd raise or fold pre-flop, as you suggested. But I think the big mistake was the all in on the flop after his big raise. You are still very early in the tournament and a fold is OK.

Then again, if you are one of those players who wants to take gambles to get an early chip lead, this is the right spot.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

Tough hand, he probably makes the same bet with 10-10-KK, but then folds to your AI.

Pretty fishy play to raise 7x with A10 in EP, I think you have to give an unknown player more credit than that... minumum to me would be AQ or 99 up... even 99 10 10 it's so early I think most would look to limp and hit a set or maybe over pair or get out.

I'm leaning towards folding vs re raising pre flop... what would you have done if you'd raised to say 200 or 250 and he had smooth called? Then you have to think you're beat, but the hand probably plays out the same way because now you've got way to much invested just in case he does have a hand like KK.

Hands like this make me wish for nothing but suiteds and low PPs early on.
