Default Gun shy to change levels,,why????

I'm 43% in ITM on $11 SNG,Since Janurary made $1200,played about 400 gms a few NL mixed in there.I want to go to $20 SNG but feel like a losing streak will set in as soon as I make the change.Should I do it anyway??I left about $350 in the account.

If you cant play with the confidence that you will win, YOu shoudlnt be playing. If you multi table this is what you should try. Start up ur normal number of tables except for 1. Make that one one level higher than u usually play. THis way you will start feeling more comfortable, and the transition will be softer.

but feel like a losing streak will set in as soon as I make the change.

what everyone else said, this screams out STAY PUT to me... it sounds like you have taken about 2/3 your BR off line, which I assume means you could use that 800 bucks. If you're happy doing that every quarter or so, I don't think there is anything wrong with staying at the 10 tourneys. Clearly the money you are winning still means a lot to you. I have opposite problem you do, must constantly reinforce to myself that I should be patient and build the BR before moving up. I have to stop playing lower buy in tourneys once my BR hits a certain level because I just don't care about winning (for example) 100 bucks in a 30 1 T SNG anymore, and my game suffers for it. I need to be taking a bit of a risk (within my BR rules) to play my best.

But sounds like that is not you. I think you need to ID one thing - where does the idea that you're going to start sucking at the 20 level come from?

    1) You are not comfortable wagering that much money at a strech, or looking at a swing of a couple hundred if you hit a cold run. If this is the case, I'd stick to the tens until you start to yearn for 20s.

    2) You are afraid the 20 players are better than you. If this is the case, why not try 3 or 4 20s and see how you feel? Honestly if you're playing that well in 10 dollars I can't believe you have much trouble moving up. Play tightens in my experience up to 30, then starts to loosen again. Play tight along with them and you should at least be able to break even-ish while you get your feet wet, then you'll start seeing how much money those tighties are just begging you to take.

either way congrats on the nice run.

I tend to play looser once I get a good amount of BR built up,that is why I cash out and keep lower increments in the account.

Why not just mix in a few 20s? Say one of every three or four 10s you play? That way if you start placing in the money in the 20s, you will feel more confident, and know when to move up. I don't think anyone here can tell you when to move up though.

Use the money you win from your next 10 SnG to play 1 50 SnG and play treat it like a "freeroll."

first of dont listen to rilla.
Second, rilla ur math doenst pan out. You only net 39 bucks from ur 10+1 win. If you play a 50+5 your still paying money to play.

What you can do however is, If you win two firsts in a row at the 10s, move up and play a 20. If you lose, drop back down to the 10s. If you win 2 20s in a row, move up to the 30s. If you lose that drop back down to the 20s, and if you lose their drop back down to the 10s. THis way you will have lots of contact with all levels of the games, wihtout risking big chunksof ur BR.
