Default Bubbled out in MTT - please comment

Any other way to play this?

430 player MTT on Pacific, I'm down to the last 63 and on the bubble (50 ITM).

    Blinds 250/500
    I'm UTG dealt JJ (3700)
Since I'm down to only ~7BB, I go AI
Everyone folds except BB (~6000), who thinks for a long time then calls.
    BB has KQo.
    Flop comes 972
    Turn - Q
    River - 9
    I'm out.

Would anyone do anything different? Raise less perhaps preflop?

I assume ante's were in play at this point as well? Plus, the next blind level would eat you alive.

    Right call, bad luck.

    No antes at Pacific.

Would anyone go for raising to 1500? BB would still call but may fold to my bet post flop since the flop was all rags.

You cant look at what came out on the flop and justify the play. The same situation could have easily occured but the flop coudl have come out AQ7. In which case you are in a worse situation. Very simply, raising to 1500 would make it so that when high cards come out, you get scared and check, in which case he bets and you fold, and u are left with no chips, and no fold equity with whatever hand you decide to push with next.

You push ur JJ hoping that he folds his KQo. Hell you wouldnt even mind if he calls with KQo your at bit better than a coinflip. Easy play.
