Default Did I make the Right Play??

This is my first post on the site but I have been around for awhile just reading post. Just wanted to say this site has helped improve my game.

It seems lately when ever I think that I have the best hand I do but get sucked out on. Examples being pckt aces taken down by pckt 8's and then my pckt K's were taken down by pckt 6's when he caught runner runner for the straight which is similar to the hand I am posting.

Nothing wrong with the way you played it. I think a reraise to 1000 on the flop looks more legitimate on the flop rather than pushing however. He may have thought you were stealing and/or on a draw and his tens were currently good.

why even post this. you put your money in while you were ahead and he needed runners. clearly it was the correct play and you got sucked out on. whatever, move on.

yeah I woulda played it totally different. You ALWAYS have to be wary of the suckouts. Never ever bet this hand, that way when he hits his runner runner you can fold and astonish everyone at the table with your incredible ESP skills. I mean come on... the flop was 47T two hearts, you gotta know that 9T spades is winning this hand. What WERE you thinking??

and you dont want him to think this?

Well thank you for the replies and yes I did think that I played it right and maybe I should of used my ESP to see the suck out J/K

He made a bet of 500 and I figured the pot was good enough to take down their so I tried to lose him with my bet and honestly I didn't expect a call unless he had trips to but wasn't the case just some idiot unable to fold top pair with a horrible kicker and got lucky to catch runner runner.

The reason I made the post was to see if any of you would have made a different play. Maybe not all in of the flop just a raise then lose him on the turn but that doesn't seem likely after looking over the hand history again. I think he would of called anything I did. Thank you all for your time

I'd definatly over bet try and push everone out the hand.

It's great hitting trips but the worst thing you can do is give anyone odds on a flush draw, which was the only real possiblity here.

If you hit trip 4s and fear higher pockets then why would you ever call them in in the first place? Don't start thinking about that. You'll get snagged on acasion, but they'll pay in the long run

Yeah, you're exactly right. What I am thinking!

That's probably exactly what he thought JC Pockets had.

Running this situation through the hand simulator makes it a great time to try to get someone to call you. If you are happy with the pot the way it was, then push and hope someone like this calls you.
