The only hands that could have beat you were pocket 7's or pocket aces... It wasn't that bad of a play, but that's why it pays to fold marginal hands early in the tournament so you know who bets crazy and who only bets it when they have something really good.

Either way, you had a good hand, and it was just a bad beat, you called a big bet with a GOOD hand but you didn't have the nuts. Shake it off and go get them next time.

Thanks! I just wonder if I would have come out harder when that 4 hit on the turn if he would have folded...but guess not with a set...Also, was there anything he was doing that should have warned me he was sitting on a monster..?

just a comment, that was a bad beat but you also misplayed the hand.

preflop A4s. never, ever, ever re-raise this unless you just want to look like some crazy motherfucker. i would at most limp this and fold to any decent raise.

flop- come out betting, rep the pot, you re-raised preflop, act like you have the goods and take this down. yes the guy has a set but lots of times he wont.

turn- if you hit 2 pair like this you need to bet it. you just smoothe call with it when you need to re-raise to about 300. you have to get max value out of hands like this..

sucks that you lost too one of the only better 2 hands tho. tough luck...

    this isnt a bad beat.
    you were never ahead.

Fold it preflop, it will keep you out of trouble.
These are the hands you lose tournaments on.
There is nothing you could have done, once that four came out on the turn I am sure you fell in love with your hand (I would have) and thats where the trouble begins.

a bad beat is a hand where someone, against all odds, hits a card and beats you. you were ALWAYS losing. you played this hand terribly...

    fold preflop.
raise the flop to see where you stand.
    DEFINITELY raise the turn.
    move in on the river.

youre playing weak/loose. youre the type of player others fantasize about. until you see the gaping holes in your play here, please dont whine about it as a bad beat.
