Stupid Re-Raise on River?

When he called the 1$ on the turn i put him on either a 6 (dumb) or having just picked up a strait draw. When the 7 hit on the river and he raised my initial bet, i figured he picked up his strait...or was trying to bluff at it. Is there any indication here that i should have just called his raise rather than re-raise him?

Depends on him...does he often bet with the second (or in reality 4th) best hand? A flush seems very possible there. Does he reraise lesser hands in this situation?

Without a read, I don't think there's anything specific to warn you.

Bet 3/4 on the flop. You raised preflop and you picked up a flush draw. You are out of position so bet it.

If he folds (not the case here) you take it down there.
If he calls he can be on the same draw as you are (good unless he has the Ace) he can have the King but doesnt trust his kicker and is gonna passively call you down (You make money if you make your flush or you can even bet him out of his hand) or he is planing to raise you on the turn, slowplaying his trips (you see the next card and go from there.
If he raises you you he probably has the 8 so you figure your odds (minus the ones tha fill him up) and see if you wanna draw to your flush.

Isn't it simler that way? You telegraphed your hand on the flop, so he cold called the turn (now he is certain you have the flush) filled up and doubled up on the river.

You are supposed to bet 3/4 on the flop 90% no matter if you raised preflop.

Combination of misplayed hand and bad beat.

I would bet the flop here and try to get information
on your hand. He calls then I would put him on the
set of 8s (especially when he is one of the blinds).

Given you have the flush and he has the set, its
hammer time. You need to bet big here and keep
him from seeing a full or quads.

The full came and he still nailed you but your would
at least have had a shot if you played it more aggr.
