I wasn't sure how I felt about it at the time. I think this might be a better move on the flop - with two cards to come I'm actually a favorite over any medium-strength hand like one pair. I wasn't expecting him to end our little raise war on the flop so I guess I transferred my aggression to the turn without really thinking about it.
There's also a case for this move if you think there's a decent chance (let's say 20%) that the other guy will fold, but I pretty much knew this guy wasn't folding, so I don't know why I hair-triggered like that.
