    Default AK whiffs...now what?

I'd been stealing quite a bit, showing down big hands, including a couple monster winners. Not quite panic time for the shorties, but they were starting to bite back. Anyone play this differently?

    Wastin' away again in margaritaville....
His check on the flop says, "i wiffed too". Unless he is a sneaky bastard, I bet the pot putting him all in on the turn.

This hand is a good example of why acting last is a huge advantage. After seeing u check the river, if he had bet, he would have picked up the pot.

    Your play is fine.

You completely whiffed the flop, and there isnt really anything for u to rep on the flop. After he checks to u on the flop you sense some weaknes and bet the turn. He calls so you put him on a hand of some sort. THen you check the river which is perfectly fine, and he checks behind u. Sounds fine to me.

you could re-raise all in preflop if u wanted...

it sends a good message. i would only do that if you knew they were just pissed at you for raising all the time with crap. which i think you wrote that this was the case. especially if you knew this specific player was a little tilted by you.

I would have played this the same way. I love to raise w/ A/K but proceed with caution if it is reraised. I think people feel the need to overplay this hand and it gets them in trouble....often

I would have definetly pushed preflop. His opponet already has 1/3 his stack in,. I think the other guy raises more back at you with AA or KK in this situation although he might still have it. I think this is a coinflip or you dominating about 95% of the time. I would definetly have pushed preflop.

    Thanks for all the feedback.

The reason why I didn't push all in is that I didn't want to risk half my stack on a potential coin flip when I'm the chip leader. My postflop game was pretty sharp that day, so I wanted to use it. Wondering if this is a good rationale to use...
