What hand did you put him on there? I thought AK until the river action. I have no idea what he could have had. I was thinking maybe QQ but i dunno why he would check the turn. I guess I just cant see why you bluffed, maybe he had QJ but I dont think a good player raises QJ preflop so I dont know.

I'm not sure he had anything. Maybe AJ. Maybe TT. Maybe AsQs. He was betting from position PFR .. maybe he had 82os.

I was going for gutshot + "virtual" & real overcard + "virtual" flush draw.
I figured the virtual cards had about a 70% chance of working
    on this type of player.

I will often play a gutshot+over if the board show 2 to a flush; ragardless
of what the suit is or if I have connected. The odds of making the flush
draw are 11/47+11/46 if you don't have a suited card in the hole. Add
to that the 4 outs for the straight and the 3 for the over and you have 18 outs. Which gives you pretty good odds against this type of plr. The implied odds of the gutshot make it very powerful but the other cards serve to help reduce your risk over many hands.

Ofcourse I only do this once I've established a pattern of winning pots with real hands and I've figured out what a plr respects for bet size.
