Default Interesting and costly misplay by me

    PREFLOP Standard raise, pretty normal

FLOP; Just calling with an OESD (actually I didnt know but it I only had 3 outs)

TURN WOOT.. I've got the nuts and this guys betting in to me!! heres where I go wrong, I have 2 choices (A) smooth call and hope he keeps betting or (B) Reraise and hope he also has a Q.

Choice A: I chose the smooth call,, which was a bad choice as I will explain in choice B.

Choice B: If he has a Q here I can reraise and most likely get another raise out of him. If he is drawing to a flush or full house I am making him pay, which Is much better than him not paying and hitting, or not hitting and not paying. I must also accept the fact that if the river is a blank I wont make any money by slowplaying because my straight is still obvious. So reraise was the correct play here.

River: I just realized at the river what I should have done. Now theres 3 clubs and no way I'm doubling up of him if hes got a Queen. Im pretty sure he dosnt have the flush so I throw out a value reraise.

What do I do if he pushes after my reraise on the river?

You said it yourself. You're not doubling through on the river, so if he goes AI you're folding.

That was for the bonus question.

Rilla, would you agree with everything else that I said about the hand though?

If he comes over the top, you call.

His two bets on the flop and turn (especially on the turn) tell me he
doesn't have the flush draw. In fact they tell me he has no draw and that he has a hand and is either betting for information or building the pot.

You are correct. Your smooth call of the turn bet puts you on the flush draw in his eyes. So when the flush does river, your hopes of doubling disappear. A raise on the turn would have eliminated all doubt in your opponents head regarding the flush draw.

Having said all this. I have been the victim of a flush draw raising me on the turn to disguise their hand.

Very interesting hand. Thanks for posting.

I don't like the river raise in theory and probably wouldnt make it myself becuase it's just asking for trouble. Between the flat call and the turn raise, I don't think you can go wrong. Either he's in the midst of continuation bets and probably will give up on the river, or he's made a little something and will gladly donate to your cause.

I think the river raise was good, because I did not expect him to have a flush. If he had a queen or a set the pot was big enough already that he would most likely call. I should have raised on the turn anyways to eiminate this problem but I see no signs showing that he had a flush.

I guess it's better for your stake. I'd be afraid that a raise like that is asking for someone to pop me back up on a complete bluff.
