WHy did you check the turn and then push all in over him? If you were going to do that, why not just reraise him all in on the flop?

don't call that reraise preflop, go allin. yea the flop looks bad for you, but just get all your chips in preflop when you can.

Yes and why didnt you just go all in preflop? Hes going to have Aces like once every 25 times. If he doesnt have the Aces (he most likely doesnt), you A) take down a huge pot B) gabezor him really really hard.

Well here goes...First what I think he had:

You raised pre flop, and he re-raised a substantal amount, first thing that runs through my head is AA,QQ,JJ,TT, 99 AK, MAYBE AQ.

you check the flop, and he bets a LOW amount...from the look of it he wants a call, or he's weak...

you check the turn...a sign of weakness again, so he bets a high amount. This play intrigues me, and gets me very curious for the answer. He looked to be slowplaying a monster...but then he comes flying off the hinges when you appear weak? Sure seems like a bluff that doesn't want to be called...Oooooor it's pocket 9's that assumes you hit something, because you called his flop bet. At this point I'd put him on KK 5%, JJ 50%, AQo 15%, 99 25%, KJs 5%

I would seriously have to contemplate calling here as well. The main hands im worried about here is 99 or AQo.

I'll throw my 3 hands out there, JJ 50%, 99 25%, AQo 15%. Hoping he was pulling a semi bluff w/ the J's.

And to reiterate...all in on the flop. Make him think twice about busting, and maybe he'll fold that AQo or 99.

He had the rockets, and I didn't catch. Went on to settle for 2nd.

I agree that pushing PF would have been the best move. Easy to see that now that i read this again. poorly played by me all around.

My thoughts at the time were that he was full of it and i was going to beat him down. I'd been bullying the table (with a great run of cards) without having to show much and thought this guy was making a stand to see if i could be moved. AI PF or when i did it, the result would have been the same - still should have pushed it pf though.
