Default Would you push here? ($5 SnG)

Sorry, I wasn't able to get an HH this time.

Chip stacks were as follows (approximate):
    UTG: 3600
    MP: 5000
    CO: 3400
    SB: 1200
    BB (Hero): 1800

The blinds were at 75/150 and I was dealt pocket 9's.

UTG called the 150, and UTG+1 minraised to 300.
UTG+1 had minraised my blind the previous orbit, and I folded.

    Is a push here justified?

    Thanks in advance.

If your read on the UTG+1 is that his min. raise represents an ok hand, not a trap...or you believe that he thinks that all he has to do to get you to fold is bump it one unit definitely PUSH!

I am guessing, based on the info that you will be ahead if someone calls. I push in this scenario.

I agree with Zen, if you didn't notice him trapping with power hands before, push. It also says "stay away from my blinds".

IF you had tight read you could make it about 900 to go, then plan on painfully folding if he comes over top, otherwise I think push the right play. If he called the 900 you're AI on any low card flop, J high or less I say.

With one limper already this can't be a steal.

I think this is a push.

Wihtout a read, I would expect him to turn over AJ, or AQ. Not AK. Not AA KK QQ JJ. Maybe TT.

To tell you the trtuh, minraising confuses the fuck out of me.

on pacific everyone min raises. Some people just seem to prefer that over 3 bets. I think u should push...but I'd say 75% of the time u'll get a call and have a coinflip.

    Results:

I ended up pushing, and he called, turning over AKs for the coinflip.

I had a gut feeling that it'd be a coinflip, so my next question is:
Was the position I was in a good stage to be seeking a coinflip to double up, or better as a camping position?

I think so, because there's quite a gap between you and the number 3 chip position. Maybe you'll get a better hand in the next couple of orbits, but more likely you'll be down more chips, and be forced to push in a similar or worse situation, and doubling up then (with less chips) won't be as nice as doubling up now.

the push also teaches utg+1 not to fuck witn you, and that ur not a pushover. Sometimes, If i think someones just trying to steal, I wlil push over him with any 2 cards.
