im going to disagree, smooth calling here gives people a chance to see the turn card.. if he has an overpair, he could catch his card, or someone hits their flush and your set sucks .
push to protect your hand from chasers.
or just bet into the preflop raiser before he has a chance to bet the flop, it will confuse him into thinking you have a pair on the board and his overpair is good, he will probably reraise you and you can push on him then.
