Fold. The kicker is killing me. If I don't hit the flop, I check/fold, thereby accomplishing nothing other than giving the big stack an xtra 500 chips. I'm now right there with the short stack and if I have to fold the next hand as the SB, I'm now the short stock.

That's almost even worse. Why is the small stack messing around like that? He definately wants action and doesn't want to scare me away by pushing. I run screaming.

With Q6, I err on the side of caution.

    no reads???

i fold either way. i like attaching blinds much more than defending them with shitty cards.

I am certainly push happy...but this is an easy fold.

hm...maybe I'll have to change my answer...situation came up today and I found myself pushing. Guess it really depends on who you're up against. If it's a tricky guy I fold. If it's a fold happy guy I push. In my game the guy folded--even though my image was close to maniac (he wrote something to the effect of "dude you fuccking suck so bad. so fuccking lucky.")

    Depends on the reads.

But I fold both hands most of the time. I want a better hand to push with, like Ax - Q6o is getting you nowhere when (if) you get called.

And btw, his minraise looks suspicious to me, I've been in several shorthanded situation where someone minraised with a monster because he wanted at least one call.

I'm glad everyone hates the min raise too!
I don't think you can call... if you miss the flop you either put out a bet and plan on check folding if you get called, or give it up... even if you hit a pair abd you get called you may have to give it up. Push is do able against a realy tighty, but only if you've seen them min raise a couple times, I think. Otherwise I'd wait for better spot.

Funny how no one liked my non-push raise in the other thread when the point was to steal blinds and now everyone is afraid the guy's minbet would be hiding a monster!

Anyway, I fold this without reads.

i don't fold because i'm afraid of a monster, im afraid that my hand is shitty and don't want to play into any aggression.

I'd fold because staring at Queen high against a guy representing an Ace and no reads.

Pushing is bad because Ax WILL call this raise. Any pair will call. Your drawing here more often than they will min raise Q5 or JT or lower

I will join the majority and definitely fold. I never waste chips 'defending' my blind in these scenarios.

hmmm..I probably would have called. Maybe I need to re-think that.

dont worry shark bait, Harrington would have called the minraise.

What hands would you call with? Why? If you would call with those hands, would you instead push them?

    I generally raise 2 - 4 x BB whether I'm blind-stealing or have a legit hand...

Against aggressive players I'll push monsters PF if it gets me higher into the money...

Like today I pushed QQ and got called by Ace-rag.

Knocking the guy got me into 3rd on a 3 table tourney at PS.

push with any ace or pair, maybe call with two face cards.

but when i'm first to act its an entirely different story.

Boy, Dan is my man, just ordered part 2 today, but I still don't call here. I'm down with the pot odds but I have no idea how to play the flop here, pretty much whatever comes. Does he suggest going with any piece of the flop, betting out whether you hit or not, Q6 voodoo dance, what?

I know that is why you fold. I am referring to what other people posted about fearing a monster, which I am too lazy to bother quoting here, but you should be able to find them if you care.

a lot of hte time min betting has been monstering rather than stealing. Someone who steals wants more ball sack behind their steals so they make it more than 2xBB. Someone who wants action feigns wekaness by betting 2xBB. Dont kno if that answered ur question.

WHy do I personally push my mosnters? Becuase Iv pushed the last 3 ahnds, and if I raise 3xBB, they will kno I have a real hand.

Q6 is the middle road so your staring at a 50/50 shot against someone showing aggression.

Your at the point you need to take coinflips, but I'd rather be the one making the raise. I'm not a fan of calling with a weak hand.
