    Default Tourney I play In

I need some help with the toureny I play in.

I am a very solid player and doing very well in online poker however i am having some trouble with my live game.

The past 4 weeks with a tourney or 2 a week, about 7 id say, i have lost.

I don't mind losing to someone outplaying me or me making a bad call because i had that in my control and i blew it however that is not the case.

Take 2 days ago for example.

I took chip lead and made a first position raise with a high pocket pair. The person to the left of me calls with Jack 6 and hits jacks on the flop. The raise was big however he played on luck and hit.

A few hands later i made one of the best plays in my life and liad down AK suited to AA which was ridiculous.

Now, i pickup KK in deal positions and push it all in as i see a kid looking at his chips after he saw his cards. To my amazement the same person who hit that j ont he flop called with ace 6 and the ace being a spade.

2 spades on flop then running spades came out and i lost.

A game before that i had AA and raised big and got a call with k 6. Flop was k k 2. I pushed it all in and obviously a call came and i lost.

Day before that, i flopped bottom pair and we both checked. I hit two pair on turn and push it all in. He calls with ace high thinking its the best hand and hits straight on river (inside straight)

Time before that, I had a 5 flop was 7 7 5. I raise it hard after the flop, rela hard, person calls with pocket 2's and hits 2s on turn for full house.

I mean, i feel like im playing at the top of my game, but no matter what i do i cant avoid these disgusting calls and lucky hits from these people.

Is there anything i can do to minimize the chances of this happening or is this just a phase that will pass on to another player there because it has been me out of all the people i play with that has been getting out the past few weeks by people getting extremely lucky.

    Live is rigged!

Look, there is nothing you can do to stop poo players making poo calls. You just have to consider the long term results. Statistics/Odds/Probabilities say that, over the long term, J6 isn't going to keep busting your big pairs. K6 isn't going to keep cracking your Aces. You may think it will, BUT IT WON'T.

You also haven't mentioned how often your big hands hold up against the weaker hands and neither do u mention how often your little drawing hands crack your opponents bigger hands.

Keep making the right plays and the rest will click into place.

STBY, you gotta start learning to post in the bad beats forum. They happen, people suck, and suck out, no matter what you bet, nothing you can do about it.

I motion we lock this thread before it turns into another thread like that "Unbelievable" one

Dont push AI here, He folds anything but a K or maybe a 2, but what are the odds he really has a 2 here? He might also call with mid pockets. Anyways 90% of the time you get a call you will lose. I would check the flop, then proceed with caution.

    Staple Gun is right.

The KK on the board (or any high pair like JJ or QQ) means your pkt AA is potentially beat. Here you may put in a 2xBB bet for information if you want to play it loose or check and watch if you want to play it tight. The bet will certainly give you more information because if someone has the K they are likely to raise (rather than just call). If someone has the 2 (very unlikely) or another pair they may call and if they have neither they will probably fold.

If you play it tight and check, the guy holding the K will likely slowplay you and check back or minraise. Then you have to make the same decision on the river and may get drawn into a large call.

Work on your post flop play.
