Default Does anyone consider making this lay down?

I'm kind of in shock right now. I just had two hands in a row where I flopped a flush while someone else flopped a higher flush. Anyways, I didn't see how I would possibly lay down a flush with open-ended straight flush draw on the flop even if I thought there was a chance I was beaten. Ideas?

    25/50's f'in hard!
your open-ended straight flush draw is pretty meaningless - its a 2-outer the same chance a pocket pair has of catching a set each card. This really depends on the player, but against the more tight conservative opponent I fold. Its not that unusual to flop a lower flush to a higher one, has happened to me three times now.

raises that big tell you that you can let go of your baby flush. sets dont push on a 3-flush board.

    himself fucker.
This is one of those times where you just need to know your op. Will he push with just the ace here?

The answer tells you your action.

I call here. Can't lay this down. I disagree with one of the above posts, that a set will not go all in here. That's EXACTLY what a set would do, and what I would do with a set every time.

And I know that you realistically only had two outs against the hand that you did run up against, but at least you weren't drawing dead, right? I think you can call that. Most people don't push all in with the flopped nut flush on the flop; badly played by him.

I figured him for a scared set, but after thinking about the hand a little bit afterwards, I don't think calling was the right decision. A large percentage of the time I'm going to be drawing dead to a straight flush, and the rest of the time my hand is vulnerable to a board pair, so I'd probably have a losing hand on the river more often than not. I think the safe and statistically sound play is probably to fold.

you got broke in a nothing pot, 7 handed i might add. I've learned to lay hands down much easier in these kinds of pots, unless it is the nuts or I'm the favorite.

Um, if I went broke, how could it have possibly been a nothing pot?

And evidently I thought I was the favorite.

    Eh, that's a toughie.

I dont think a set risks his whole stack when there's the possibility of the flush- especially after you've reraised him. If he had the set, he'd have called the reraise in fear of your flush. AI after his initial bet probably means he's hit.

    My 2 cents.

Had almost the exact same hand against a donkey with K7s.
I pushed and he cleaned me out. The only thing I didn different
was that I waited for turn and river to allow for him holding
a big suit. I still went all in (he was a MAJOR donk and would
    call anything).

I bet him on the flop and turn and he smooth called me both
times. I should've value bet on the river but I was tilting from an
earlier hand. Could've saved myself $40.
