Default PS $5 sng... good bet?

Not much of a read, seemed like the average low stakes passive player.

On those stakes this reraise tells me has AA or KK - but its hard to be sure at those stakes, cuz the reraise can be that of a moron who has fallen in love with his AK hand - but even against that hand its nearly a coinflip, so I would probably fold to his reraise - does anyone agree with me on this, or would they call his prf reraise and then decide after the flop?

About your flop bet? You are risking quite many chips when theres a very good chance he has AA or KK. But something like this always comes down to what read you have on the guy. But like gabe said, if he seems passive and he reraises you prf, then throw your hand away and save your chips.

Or if he has any PP lower than A, mabey QQ for example, after that flop, the raise pre-flop, then the bet on the flop.... He may just lay it down to you right now. Either way 3 situations I see...

    1) You get the pot right now and posibly make a hand like QQ or KK fold to your J's
    2) You get raised and know your J's are beat and fold
    3) He calls and we see what the turn brings, in which case u can pretty safely check/fold it down... unless the turn brings a J I wouldn't want to be putting more money in assuming he called that flop bet.

ding ding ding... Chris (hey that's my name too! :P) is right on the money. That's exactly the thought process I had. Here's what happened:

Dude thought for a long time, used about 15 seconds of his time bank
    MrGarball: folds

I'm quite certain I made him lay down KK/QQ.

Then I would say good play

Either way I would have made the same bet. His raise made me think PP for sure. Also it is likely he was ahead, but that Ace is a nice scare card and from early position you came out betting it. He had no choice but to fold really unless he made that PFR with a measly AK, AQ, etc... or the AA in which case he would probably push and you would fold.

I think it is a good play for 1 main reason. His re-raise said PP to me. I think at this level there are 4 hands that would do this raise.. JJ, QQ, KK, AA. So by making this bet 75% of the time your oposition is likely to fold, and 25% they are likely to push. Notice I said likely... in no ways am I saying it will happen. Plus your 1/2 pot bet out is clearly saying you have the ace and want to develop a nice sized pot (Where a 100 bet or even 200 would have just been weak as would a huge over bet looking like your trying to push him out)

I like to play tight Agg, and when I think my opp has a high PP, but not an Ace, I do exactly what homerdash did here and fold to any re-raise or agg back at me.

Fine bet with no read, you'll get the info you need.

If you're sure he is passsive, tho, I agree with Gabe, you don't need to spend the chips. If he has the A, he'll bet, if not, he'll check and you go from there as long as a K or Q doesn't get there. You don't want to bet here with KK and then get raised.
