with 4x BB I'm delighted to get my money in with AJ. As you saw there is no reason to give these guys credit for a better hand, coin flip is your friend, in this spot I'm happy with a live A.

First hand is much tougher. You still have enough to fold people out if you check fold now, I think you give that one up. May get called not just by a K but almost any pair. If you do anything it must be AI I think.

1st hand i'd consider checking a continuation bet pretty much pot comits you.

2nd hand i'd run iwth AJ in that situation..
You have 2 hands before you in for 25% of yoru stack in teh bb.

1st hand, if your intention was to steal, you have failed. Just let it go.

    2nd hand. push.

k thanks guys.. i just figured i could live on folding that aj, and since the small stack called he probly had an ace. Bad thinkin becauset hey both had the blinds coming to them... oh well. next time i push

    Default dgsgsdg

First hand, I think probably check/fold. Because you really don't have a lot of room to play around is you lose this hand. The button has a lot more chips than you, and can call with any king, or a flush draw even.

On the second hand I don't mind calling or folding. I think both choices are reasonable. There's no reason not to give the first guy credit for going all in with a better ace or a pair. But its also very common to see people do it with worse hands at low buy-in SnGs. Either way, I think you can have a better chance (less of a gamble in the dark) later on probably, even if its just stealing blinds with nothing before you pick up a real hand. So I think the fold is fine here.

Shit I change my opinion on hand two.

You can fold this hand and not feel bad about it, there are already 2 people all in ahead of you. Letting the hand go is not bad.

My thinking was that I had him dominated or had a big advantage in coinflip. Turned out to be wrong, but oh well. Bad call or what? I did sacrifice a decent chip position on a coin flip....

How could you have a big advantage in a coinflip? A coinflip means its 50-50 (more or less in poker) by denifition.

You knew what you were doing here, taking a flip for a big chuck of your stack, or maaaaaaaaaaaaybe dominating an AJ, or A10 or something. Its not the worst call ever, but you know that you're just leaving it all up to the poker gods when you make this call.
  11. #11
i meant race not coinflip. I really thought I would be ahead here I was just curious what others would say. not a bad situation to knock someone out and cruise to 1st or 2nd

VQ, I can't believe you're folding, look at the Ms! UTG should move with any two, and once he does UTG+1 has pot odds to go with any two. You're getting 2/1 on your money here, I'd call if I knew one had QQ and one had KK. But K3 and 54s are way more likely.

The AQ hand would be a read play for me. Default is fold unless the guy's been playing loose or raising every pot. I guess my question would be why you think you're way ahead? Calling AI with AQ you're going to be behind way more than you're ahead. I don't see how you're 'cruising' to first or second even if you win, but you're crippled if you lose.

    race = coin flip
