Risky with what was on board or good play?

That put me back up to even stacks heads up..then called his bluff with ace high for a big pot, then had 24 and called his raise with 36, hit a 4 onflop and won the tourney
  2. #2
Hand 1 - calling the bet is fine if you're last to act, it's a little risky with others still to come... however with play this goofy going on, implied odds on hitting a set are huge, so I say worth the gamble. The fact that you don't ask if the fold was good makes me think you're waay too good for this table.

Hand 2 - testicular move, but it's reasonable to but him on a draw here. You about even money against any solid draw hand, but short stacked like you were I think g00t

Hand 3 - I'd raise a little more with A10 with limpers, you're looking to win the pot pre flop. With the current PS I'd be tempted to just move it in pre flop.

Hand 4 - wow look at the pot odds... I dunno. At a tighter table (I assume this is small stakes?) I think you just get rid of 55 after a raise and a call, or go over the top... plus as you found out weak min raises and calls are very tempting to a small stack. Once it comes back around you need to fold, you aren't getting the right odds to play for a set and if you don't make one you're done.
  3. #3
yeah this was a 5.50 2 table..and thanks on sayin im too good for this..just got like 80 bucks in br..kinda still new and just buildin up my bankroll
  4. #4
Hand 1 - I dont mind the limp from SB, but once you see a re-raise and then another re-raise, alarms should be going off. I was suprized of the hands at showdown...you would expect some kind of overpair or aces.

Hand 2 - I might have folded preflop, but just by seeing 2 hands I can tell this table is absolutely crazy. After seeing this hand, I would consider loosening up preflop, calling with drawing hands.

It is a pretty risky move to be calling with top pair on a board like that. You can be easily dominated from this position. He could have flopped a straight, a set, or have a flush draw.

Hand 3 - If your at a loose table like this, just raise with dominant hands preflop. Theres no use raising or trying to steal the blinds when you know they'll call. You were lucky to get that ace on the turn after your continuation bet. Keep in mind, you can't bluff maniacs who call with ace high or any kind of pair.

Hand 4 - I wouldnt call this, you dont want to risk all those chips when 55 can be so easily dominated. Also against 2 other players, your chances are even worse.

    Hand 5 - Well played...you just lost a coinflip.

Hand 6 - Heads up and shortstacked, I would have to make the call, too. You can't put him on AT because he limped. A Ten is possible but when he reraised all in when the 9 came up, it made it seem like he just wanted you out of the pot.
  5. #5
    1) Good fold. With deep stacks calling that 100 raise should be fine, if you catch ur set, ur at a good place to double. However, with shallower and shallower stacks, that freedom shrinks. With 1k chips at bodog I woudlnt call that. With 800 at PP Im sure Gabezor wouldnt call that. However with 1.5k I think that calling the 100 was fine. All the action afterwards was a sign for u to fold.

    2) Fold preflop.
It was ballsy to bet the flop. It was crazy to call the all in. Id be afraid of a set. Im not too sure about calling the allin.

    3) Not a good hand. Fold Preflop.
lucky A on the turn, What would you have done without the A on the turn? The contunuation bet was decent/ok, not bad. If you wanted to take it down there, it was a good flop to do it on.

    4) bad play with the 55. Your stack isnt big enough or small enough to be gambling with a small pair. Lucky on the set

    5) Play good.

    6) If he had AT, he might have been more aggresive with it preflop. I pay him off. With 2 pair, I pay him off.
