    Default Action killed my hand

I think this is the best fold I've made today. Hard to do, considering that my eyes opened up like saucers when I saw the flop.

Definitely a tough fold, but 2pair always fucks me as well. Why did he bet it so hard? What did he have that had you beat?

Yesterday, I had a hand with a small 2pair similar to this and had a guy going crazy on me. He raised me hard, and then potted it on the turn for $35. I thought about his play, and thought that he didn't want any action with either an overpair or TPTK so I put him allin. Ends up all he had was a flush draw. Any chance you were in a similar situation?

I'm thinking bigger two pair or set here.. It wouldn't be too easy to fold, but as he got into the pot so cheaply he could of had anything. 55, 66, K5, K6. Could even of had something like 78s and wanted to take a pot against a weak opponent.

    I'd like to fold here.

Smackin - I see a lot of guys raising draws, but usually they min-raise. I assumed from the size of the guy's raise that he had the goods. Unfortunately he didn't show down, but I asked him directly after the hand what he had and he said a set of sixes.

Assuming he really had a set of 6s, is the big giant raise the optimal play here? I'm thinking the big raise is to force a potential flush draw out, but the set of 6s has almost as good of a chance of making a hand that beats a flush, then the flush draw has of drawing to his flush (set of 6s has 7 outs on the turn and 10 outs on the river vs. the flush draw 9 outs on turn and river). You had 2 of the outs which changes things, but he doesn't know that.

I'm thinking that maybe a more optimal play for a set here would be to keep a flush draw betting by giving marginally bad calling odds, rather than the big bet.

    Your thoughts?

I may be the wrong person to ask, since I had two sets of queens beaten by flushes that hit on the turn yesterday (after both opponents called raises they shouldn't have on the flop). It's arguably more profitable to have them calling with bad pot odds, but obviously you lose more pots along the way, and that can be very painful. (Both of those hands with the queens cost me most of a buy-in.)

Yup, its always nice when people play draws like made hands until they actually hit. I think that if it wasn't for flushes, fish wouldn't play poker as much as they do.
