ok you bet 3, and he calls. river comes and its a blank, you bet the rest, he folds. theres 3 more dollars you won from him because you didnt go all in and scare him off. but obviously you are pot committed, but that doesnt really matter. if he hits his straight then so be it, id rather him hit his straight and have $1.50 left than 0. dont worry about your stack or how much you have put in the pot, what is in the pot is not yours anymore, it doesnt matter. being pot committed doesnt matter in this situation, you have the best hand. i think you should bet just over the odds he needs to call, so it is more likely that he will call, which is a mistake by him. making your opponents make mistakes is how you make money. you dont want to bet your entire stack here because he is less likely to call, earning you less money. dont make it improbable for your opponents to make a mistake by going all in and scaring them off.
