My logic was quite simple...I raised UTG and tried slowplaying my set on a very uncoordinated board...When I pushed all-in on the turn, I figured maybe he had something like trip 9s or trip 10s, because I didn't consider QJo to be a plausible holding for cold-calling a UTG raise.

Did I play badly here, or was I just unlucky?

when he leads out and bets on that flop, I would raise him AI there-and-then.

I didn't want him to fold yet...I had a monster on a very uncordinated board, and the only holding that could really outdraw me wasn't plausible for cold-calling a UTG raise.

Since he only has about 800 chips left after he bets out on the flop, I would reraise his 300 to about 700 and try and induce him to go all in on me.

The problem is that your hand is so strong on teh flop that if possible you would want to slow play it. But since he bet out so much of his stack, try and induce him to go all in on you when you have the nuts.

No you were not wrong to push the turn either. I think you pay that off everytime.

I make it 900-1K to see if he likes his hand enough to push...
