    Default Trust your reads.

Middle of the tourny. I had made steals throughout the table. One Ace high bluff was shown because a shortstack was AI for the big blind. Twice in a row I'd had.

It comes to me and here is how I play it out in my head.

I am going to raise, and he is going AI no matter his cards because he thinks I'm stealing. I have better then average hand and I will call.

If I fold I'm shortstacked, if I call and lose I'm shortstacked, if I call and win I have room to move deep into the money...

My best play of the day (so far :P)

    How do you call that?
If he has a K he is ahead.

    Never call anything with QJo.

Meh. You let a likely coinflip decide your tourny here. I'd way rather see a push instead of a raise in this situation. If you're going to call a push anyways, let him do the deciding. You say "trust your reads", but he would have made the same play if he actually had a hand too. Give yourself two ways of winning the hand and push.

I don't agree with the play but it's nice it worked out for you. You have decent chip position and no reason to force a decision for half your stack with Q high. So many hands are better than that you're just a bit over average. I think Q7 is "average" hand.

Much better to push a blind steal with QJ then to call someone re - stealing.
